One night, Luna Rabbit sat by her window. The big moon was bright and round. She saw her friends in the yard. Star Mouse had a little bag. Night Owl had a box. "Hi friends!" said Luna. "Want to share snacks under the moon?" Luna looked at her three cookies. She could bring all three cookies. Or she could bring just one cookie and save two for later.

Luna took all three cookies. She went down to meet her friends. "I brought cookies to share!" she said. Star Mouse smiled big. "I have cheese bits in my bag," he said. Night Owl opened his box. "I have warm milk for us all," he said. The three friends sat in a circle. The moon made everything glow. Luna shared her cookies with her friends. Star Mouse gave everyone cheese. Night Owl poured warm milk in tiny cups. "This is so nice," said Luna. "But I hear music from far away." Star Mouse's ears wiggled. "Should we stay here or go see?"

The friends looked at each other and smiled. "Let's stay here," said Luna. "Our snacks are so yummy!" They sat close together. The warm milk made them feel cozy. Star Mouse nibbled his cheese. Night Owl munched a cookie. "Look!" said Luna. She pointed up at the moon. "The clouds make funny shapes!" Night Owl saw a cloud like a boat. Star Mouse saw one like a fish. Luna saw one that looked like a heart. "We could play a game," said Star Mouse. "Or we could tell stories."

The friends smiled at each other. "Let's tell bedtime stories!" said Luna. They snuggled closer together. Night Owl went first. "Once there was a tiny star," he said softly. "It made friends with the moon." Star Mouse and Luna listened with big eyes. Then Star Mouse told a story. It was about a brave little mouse. The mouse found a magic cookie. Luna giggled at the funny parts. Now it was Luna's turn. She could tell a story about:

Luna smiled and began her story. "Once there was a butterfly," she said. "The butterfly loved to dance all night. She danced and danced under the stars. But when morning came, she was so tired! All the other bugs were wide awake. The butterfly could not sleep." Star Mouse and Night Owl leaned in close. "What happened next?" they asked. Luna's eyes sparkled in the moonlight. "The butterfly met three good friends. They taught her a special bedtime dance. It was slow and gentle, like this..." Luna stood up and moved softly. Her friends watched as she swayed. "Want to dance too?" she asked.

Star Mouse and Night Owl got up too. They all danced slowly under the moon. Round and round, soft and sweet. Just like the butterfly in the story. Their eyes got sleepy. Their feet got heavy. The warm milk and snacks made them yawn. "Time for bed," whispered Night Owl. "Thank you for sharing," said Star Mouse. Luna gave her friends tiny hugs. They walked home together. The moon watched them go. Three friends, three full tummies. Three happy hearts. And as they tucked into their beds, they all dreamed of dancing clouds, butterfly friends, and moonlit snacks.
